Greetings!
I restored a set of the pre-war 2400 series metal passenger cars a year or so ago and now have the time to work on them again.
I stripped, primered and repainted the bodies. I want to get them lit and its been a long time since I saw their wiring schematic and I can't remember if where the trucks are mounted, if they need to have no paint beneath them to make electrical contact. Any photos, schematics and input would be appreciated.

The body should be free of paint where the trucks mount to it. The body is the ground for the lights through the trucks. Here is a schematic of the wiring.

On each car one of the trucks will have a grounding washer on top. That truck should be mounted where no paint is on the mounting point. The other truck it does not matter. The lamp socket is grounded via the mounting screw. Hot is supplied by the roller assembly.

Thank you for your responses. The cars restored are the stamped steel cars like the 2630 version, not the plastic molded bodies. I think the wiring principles will apply though.
