After unsuccessfully searching for parts and info on my just ordered RMT 1776 GG-1, I'm turning to anyone familiar with RMT's 1776 GG-1 for help.

Is the "God Bless America" tune activated by a horn button on a seperate, stand alone sound board or is it integrated as part of the board that controls F-N-R for this engine? Could not find any schematics for this engine and since mine is on special order, I don't have it to open up and look for myself.

Thank you, your help is appreciated.

Call up Walt at RMT and pose the question to him. He's a nice guy and I'm sure, more than willing to help.

The "God Bless America" tune is activated by the horn/whistle button on your transformer and is not part of the F-N-R activation.

I would assume that the sound board for this is separate as is the diesel horn board on the other RMT diesels with this feature. Otherwise, it would have been a redesign for one single engine, which seems unlikely.

Here's a video with the sound demonstrated. Not being unpatriotic, but I just prefer the horn blast over the music. Notice how abruptly the engine stops... all the RMT engines I have stop much smoother than this, so I believe the operator used the direction button to stop the loco and then hit the horn button to activate the music.

Don't know if OGR Magazine reviewed the RMT GG1, but the other 3-rail train magazine did in December 2012 and gave it a very positive review.

I'm sure Walter at RMT is busy as mentioned above. And even the BEEP and BUDDY, which have been around for years, do not have wiring schematics shown on the RMT website. At one time, when RMT was with Aristo, there were some parts listed on the Aristo/RMT website.
