I am picking up a table top blasting cabinet this week and I will be blasting Lionel LV coal hoppers with walnut shells to repaint for Union RR. I had a friend show me after sanding the lettering on the coal hoppers that the edges of the lettering is below the surface. If someone can tell me what type of fine putty to use and what grit's of sandpaper to get and where I can get them from PLEASE! Thank you in advance for any help and take care! Ken

Squadron Green Putty.
sand paper, 600 grits or more.
Most of the hobby store are selling that, if not Amazon.

Auto body supply stores will have it too.
Another putty which I've just started using is Tamiya's filler putty. It has an extremely fine grain, spreads and fills easily, doesn't shrink and dries hard and quickly. Good hobby shops should carry it or you can get it from Sprue Brothers or other on-line plastic kit supplier.
