New England Summer Outing Now September 21st (see notes)

Hey...I think I've seen this place somewhere before.

 

I'm sure it will be a great time, wish I was able to make it for the day.

Brian, So nice to read you were able to get this outing together.  I have emailed you and my wife and I look forward to seeing that replica of the Newport Bridge on your layout.

 

For those of you unfamiliar with the territory, Portland is a wonderful New England city.  Over the years my wife and I have visited often.  There is a fabulous Holiday Inn on the Bay, overlooking Casco Bay.  It is busy this time of year but we are certainly looking forward to a wonderful getaway weekend and meeting Brian, his wife and seeing his great layout.

I wish we were able to attend, but that's the weekend my daughter returns to her college.

We have changed the date of our New England Summer outing to September 21st. When we select the date of August 24th, we had no idea that another Forum member had previously scheduled an event on this date. It is not our desire to produce a conflict with any Forum member's event, so it makes good sense for us to change the date of our event. There was no way of us knowing about this conflict and we want to thank both Chris and John who were kind enough to give us a heads up about this conflict in dates.

 

We hope that this does not inconvenience anyone with this change.

This new date works for me.    Add 3 to the RVSP list.  We had a great time at your outing in 2011?  Looking forward to this one.

It will be a delight for us to welcome you and Dotty again. Elizabeth had just a brief time meeting you both at Charles Ro last fall, so she is looking forward to getting to know you both better.

Jan and I did not think we would be anywhere near Maine this year, but life is full of surprises.  Due to a change in plans we will be in Conway on the 22nd to meet our sister-in-law who will be on a New England bus tour.  Looks like if we leave a day earlier we can attend your Outing.  Hopefully you will not mind some non-New Englanders dropping in.

We sure will look forward to your coming to our outing. I notice that you live in Maryland. I lived in Maryland (DC area) for eight years and my daughter and granddaughter are still in this area.

I just found out that we will be having a family gathering on September 21st, so we'll have to pass on your kind invitation. Marty Fitzhenry has told me all the good things about your beautiful home and your train layout.  Hopefully we will be able to enjoy it in the future.
