Atlas HO is making a model for NJ Transit's Alp-46 along with matching multi level passenger cars and is now taking pre orders at The Hobby Shop in Aberdeen NJ. Can MTH or Atlas O make any of these soon?

Thousands of dollars for what????? Mfg. Some regional RR, one paint scheme loco? There are other RR that have the same loco and different paint schemes placed around the country that deserve manufacture in O scale

The mp36 is such a loco. So are the b23-7, c636, u28-u36b's, f59ph tri-clopse, f59 phi, even the cnj double ended has 5 paint schemes for that unique model.

When it is your area and a distinctive engine that you are trying to model. That one engine can stand for your railroad and help achieve what you are trying to do.

How many railroads had the Big Boy?..... Oh oh yeah.

My children were taught a cool concept in pre school about complaining about each other's lunches. It was called "don't yuck my yum". I think the idea applies here.

MTH has made both the ALP-46 in PS3 and the matching bi-level Bombardier commuter cars. I own both the engine and the cars. It's a very nice set.

The ALP45 DP is a different beast entirely than the ALP46. As a dual phase I personally think it would be perfect as a Lionel Vision Line as you would have two sound sets and the new sparking pantographs.

Unfortunately the passenger cars made by MTH were very far from prototypical. The ones pictured by Atlas look pretty spot on.
