I placed an order for one of these in December of 2015...so after waiting a year for it to show up in my mail box...I kind of know what you BTO folks have to go through while enduring the wait, although not anywhere near your investment, my patience was still tested.
I have 3 of the 4 Lionchief Plus locomotives, that I currently operate, programmed for use with the Universal Remote. The 4th is still operated off the designated remote that it came with.
There is a little learning curve associated with using it...but after one small slow moving nose to tail-end collision...I now know the do's, don'ts and shortcuts to follow from this point forward. Pairing the locomotives to the Universal Remote was easily obtainable while leaving all 4 locomotives on the track with the power on.
Don't go to McDonald's much anymore...but as to the Universal Remote, I'll borrow their phrase, because..."I'm lovin' it"!!!
