Looks like the motor city set is going to be a winner but have you noticed that the fuel tank on the CSX SD80 looks too shallow. How deep should that fuel tank be? What do you guys think?
That's because it is too shallow. It should almost be just above the railhead. This is the older tooling that has a high fuel tank so that it would clear most switch stands. Make no mistake, this is a long engine, and there is a lot of inside curve body hang when running on sharp curves.
I've had both Lionel's and MTH's SD90's. From a detail standpoint, the MTH was the better model.
Looking closely at the print catalog the GTW auto carrier flat is missing the name GRAND TRUNK WESTERN, which is an extreme rarity for that specific scheme.
