Hi all,
Firstly appologies if I have missed a specific "New Member" thread, please move to an appropriate thread,
A little introduction from myself,my name is Graham from Dublin Ireland,I have always had an underlying love for trains since my early years, with a small OO French SNCF trainset received from Santa , the trains then took a back seat and into my 20's I discovered there was a diecast construction, crane, mining model world, machinery was also another love of mine, one day I got an urge to look for a locomotive to pose as a load on a heavy haulage low boy set up,trawling the internet I discovered Atlas and MTH,I plumped for a UP GP60 dummy unit and was blown away by the model, even the box when it arrived, details, paint quality etc, stunning! My next purchase was an MTH BNSF AC4400 as I fancied a 6 axle modern diesel, and after a lot of confusion on my part as to what the difference between 2rl and 3rl,Premier and Rail King, fixed pilot etc,I got my hands on the engine for the same purpose as the Atlas UP GP60,but seeing at the MTH engine was powered I then bought some track and the basic MTH conventional transformer set up to see what it ran and sounded like, this then led to more engines and the DCS system and to where I am now
I bought my house in 2011 and from the viewing I had ear marked a bedroom(basements are a rarity in houses in Ireland sadly) as my model/layout room and got cracking on making the most of the small space I had,an oval with if I can remember correctly 48inch radius curves at each end with around 72inches of straight away between,I was able to add to one outer corner a small engine storage area where I want to add a work shop later and a spur to the inside of the oval,
My recent buys of late were two A,B,C,D,E sets of Atlas Gunderson Twin Stacks in Santa Fe and BN livery/scheme,added to my NOKL Twin Stack set that I managed to track down,I'm in the process of adding containers,I was told the atlas containers were amazing and that I would love them from they guy I was buying from, and amazed I was!! there is nothing that matches them in the 1/50 diecast truck world for detail and finish,
Here is a short clip of my first MTH engine BNSF AC4400 running with Twin Stacks, forgive me for the terrible quality of the clip, taken on my phone and lighting is something I want to sort out,Track is elevated off the tables about 8 inches to still allow for scenery etc for my diecast models

I'm looking forward to being part of this great forum and looking forward to learning learning learning and seeing layouts, locos and rolling stock of all sorts,
I am glad to answer any questions if anyone feels free to ask me anything
