Yep, it is nice having a train maker from the Midwest, producing product with a Midwest flavor in O gauge.
Two to four weeks!! Good grief Mark!! Do you understand how long that can be? Some of us on this forum are afraid to buy green bananas!! LOL
Saw it online this morning. Just received confirmation that it's ordered!

Well, I ordered one online last week while the 11% sale was on, and picked it up at the store today. Very nice! My first Menards train purchase, even though most of my layout came them.
I still don't have a place on the layout for it, but I have an idea for a different mini layout where it would fit.
Huh? I saw one of the Red Owl stores in the Menard's I walked through today. It does not look like the old Safeway in Durango so not bashing material for me, but it was there.
The Red Owl Store on my layout, with a short history.

Gary, your video seems to be a no go. Perhaps it's just my machine.
Update: It's working now.
Interesting information about Michigan, Gary. We should visit your home state sometime!!!

Hi Mark • Yes: Tourism is the second largest business in Michigan, after automotive. This is a link to Pure Michigan, Check it out. http://www.michigan.org/ Make sure you drive across the Mackinac Bridge and visit Mackinac island along with Greenfield Village. Take a tour of the Ford Final Assemble Plant, for Ford 150 Pick-up trucks. You can purchase the tickets at Greenfield Village.
If you are ever in southeastern Michigan, hit me up with an email and we can run trains in the "Man Cave".

Gary,
Thank you for the links and the invitation. I certainly will contact you if we get up your way!!
Nice, very nice. Immediately went to my layout with the tape measure. At some point I will run out of room for these buildings LOL. But I think I said that after the WS Davenport and then the Menards corner bar.
Update: went and bought one, cool but it has a piece loose inside which seems near impossible to get at plus the roof vents make a squeaking sounds. Sadly, this will go back tomorrow
Pics to follow
I am extremely pleased with this model. Thank you Menard's.
Unfortunately the rotating vent assembly is apart and in 6-7 parts inside the building. I can't repair it without dismantling the roof in effect destroying the paintwork. Big BUMMER.. any thoughts Mr Menard's?
I have some pretty good ideas about how to improve the model but only after I end up with one that has working rotating vents.
laser etched shopping carts and I am going to scratch build some parking lot lights on this design.

Great looking shopping carts, Erik. I would need a jeweler's loop to assemble them. If I remember correctly, Red Owl had red handles with matching plastic 'fanny protectors' on their carts.
I'm not one of those guys who usually posts something like, "Hey, Menards, make this (fill in the blank) next." But I'm gonna this time.
Hey, Menards, make a die cast Red Owl delivery truck to match.
Not so far-fetched since Menards already has delivery vehicles. But I obviously don't know how far the Red Owl licensing deal runs, if there was any at all.
Jim, you should ask Cabinet Bob to make you one from one of his hundreds of free box trucks! LOL
