That is encouraging!
Bummer, NO 3 rail. I wonder if he would sell the body only?
Dear Brad,
Just forwarded you a email to be put on the email with this project.
Growing up in the Philly area I remember seeing them on the rear end of many ore/coal trains as snappers.
This will be another check mark off my bucket list !!!
Now about a PRR K-5 !!!
Regards, John
John,
What does the term “snapper” refer to in your post?
Thank you.
Jerry

MTH made a 3 rail version several years back 20-20193-1 Transfer Diesel along with a dummy unit in PRR.
If Jay is doing it I would presume P:48 versions will be available?

MTH made the Lima 2500 hp center cab. What is being talked about here is a Baldwin 2400 hp center cab. There are lots of detail differences between the two.
Bob I did not catch or realize the difference Thanks for pointing that out. Much appreciated.

That would be PRR talk for helper as in "The snapper was behind the cabin car."

Lou can do 3 rail. Might need broader curves....3 rail scale type. Let me know if you would like to be added to the list.

There have been two proto48 requests, so if you are interested, so you could become the Third.
Dear Brad, et al,
I was able to do some research on the proposed model to be built.
It will be a DT-6-6-2000 . The Pennsy never owned that model.
The PRR were the largest owner of the RT- 624(BS24/BS24M) at 23. MN&S was the only other owner at 1.
Please correct your initial post to remove the PRR as owning this model.
I will still purchase one and letter it EJ&E as I am a Baldwin diesel fan as long as the model it scale fidelity and does not compromise for our 3 rail brethren.
Hopefully some day a RT 624 will be produced.
Research obtained from Diesels of Eddystone- Dolzall & PRR Diesel Pictorial Vol #4- Hahn
Beautiful model- just isn't Pennsy.

It is my understanding that the differences are small and would be doable. If this is not the case, please advise.

Yes! I would be very interested! Its not like this model may come out again by anyone else.
I run modular Atlas O track so broad curves are no problem.
Btw, is the demo model close as well?
Dear Brad,
I would suggest that any PRR modeler refer to the photos on line of both DT-6-6-2000 and RT-624 before they pay $1,500 for a item that was stated owned by the PRR when it wasn't.
I am a Baldwin fan and as I stated will support the project buy buying one.
Yes, I am a rivet counter when it comes to the PRR and spending that kind of money I would want the piece to be right on in as much as we can be in O Scale 2rail.
