This is a general Forum question. If a topic is an older one, but you have something to add to it, does one search for the thread or does one start a new thread with a reference to the original thread? For example, if you want to include a picture to a topic that was talked about a month ago but your contribution to the subject wasn't ready at that time, where would you post the picture? Or if you have additional items to sell, do you keep adding it to your already FS post or start a new one? I want to do it the correct way, please advise. MilwRdPaul

Paul,
I would add a new post to the original thread, which will bring it all back to the first page. A lot of us (well, me anyway ) have short memories and probably wouldn't catch the significance of an additional photo or two. We'd want to review the original thread plus the new info.
By the way, if you just edit one of your existing posts on the old thread to add a photo, etc., it will remain back where it was and no one will ever see the new info.
As far as selling items, it's a matter of preference. You are allowed one new thread per day on the "For Sale or Trade" forum, but many group at least a few items per thread. It can get confusing though both for the seller and prospective buyers if too many items are listed in the same thread.

I always start a new thread. It adds to the general confusion here.

Good grief!!!!!
There's no definite rule on this. Me, I'd do a search. If nothing comes up, start a new one with background explanation.

I'm with Dale!
Besides, I've sometimes forgotten the name or the right keyword for the old thread -- often I can't find ones I just want to check on again for a reference or a link because I'm so forgetful.
Agreed, Lee. I can't often find what I want in a search.
