Hello everyone! I've been reading this forum for awhile now and would like to say thanks to all the folks out there willing to share their knowledge! We moved from a very small house into a bigger one and now I have room for a layout! I'm starting with a 4X8 and can expand when the time comes. What excites me about this hobby is that there is SO much to learn! I've always loved trains, but just about every aspect of a train layout is a learning experience for me from track and switches to scenery and buildings. There are so many choices, I figure I'll start simple and go from there. Not the best pics, but here they are. Again, thanks everyone!

Very nice. Looks like you know what you are doing. Welcome to the OGR Forum from Calgary, AB
Welcome, looks like you are off to a good start and doing pretty well so far. I am fairly new as well, been back in the hobby for only 3 years or so. We also moved last year and I've just recently gotten back to layout building in the last couple of months. This is my first permanent layout.
The OGR forum is a great place to learn and get answers to any of your questions. There are many very knowledgeable and helpful folks around here.
Cool layout, welcome to the forum.

Looks good Nick, man another Nick on the forum. Looks like you are off to a good start. This is a excellent forum to learn from. When my son and I started back in 08 I had no idea. You did the right thing by starting out with a basic and simple layout. Nick
Looking good Nick !
Welcome to the Forum, Nick.
Hi Nick, Welcome! Your layout has so much possibility! It looks like you have 027 track. The low profile of that track lends itself to a scale look if you want to add balast and extra ties, or you can go for a retro Lionel display type layout.
Nick,
Welcome to the Forum. You have come to the right place to learn from. By the looks of things, you are off to a great start and will be sharing some ideas of your own with us before long.
Northern Idaho! Sounds great! I'll bet you have some great scenery nearby!
From one Nick to another Nick welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the Forum, Nick! Very nice layout. I am glad to see that the Wabash Railroad has made it all the way to Northern Idaho! Its one of my favorite lines.
Ain't it fun.
Welcome Nick, nice photography. Great start on your layout. I like the wrecker and the front-end loader - they add some "action" detail.
