Dear Forumites,

Last Saturday at the Strasburg 2 rail

show we auctioned off a model of the famous painting by Edward Hopper ‘Nighthawk Cafe’.

The building was generously donated by Dave Vaughn who produced this kit under Wit and Wisdom models and Marty Brechbiel, MMR , built the kit to raise funds for the Strasburg Pa Fire Company ,our gracious hosts/landlord.

I was very happy to have the winning bid of $400.00 and fellow bidder Brian Scace donated a additional $100.00 to make the total auction proceeds at $500.00.

I have attached some photos of the building now residing on my West Hayleyton , Avery and Emmaus RR.

That was very generous and you, Dave and Marty certainly should be commended. It puts into perspective the conversations on the Forum about whether a gondola is worth twelve dollars or fourteen dollars.
