How dare Norfolk Southern and GE apply such an unprototypical glossy paint job to a prototype locomotive.
They need to get that so called locomotive back into the shop and put a nice satin or flat finish on it so it matches the paint on our models.
<sarcasm>
Nice looking engine.
We need to get this behind the 765
I had the same thought when I saw this picture last night. It would be soooooo cool to see this behind the 765 (not that the 765 needs the power, but it would be convenient for supplying electricity to the passenger consist being pulled ).

That looks sharp! Very nice!

Looks great but where the BEE LINE, READING?
Lackawanna, still waiting for the lackawanna........
I have a feeling that I may see more than my usual share of trackside railfans when I'm out chasing trains this summer.
That is just perfect! Great job NS ! That is one I will need to see in person asap.
Very excited about this unit. Nicely done Norfolk Southern!
Now that's COOL
I hope that NS runs these engines in the original territory that the fallen roads were at least for the beginning. I can't wait to see the Wabash Follow the Flag engine rolling through my hometown just east of Decatur, Illinois.
I'm just not used to NS being all that interested in its heritage. Not since the steam program shut down.
They seem to be doing a really nice job with this. The Southern engine is still my favorite to date, but this one is a close second. So far, so good!
Now Canadian National has to paint a GE ES44DC in the Detroit & Toledo ShoreLine paint scheme which is similar to NKP.

Just picked mine up at LHS today. I unboxed and it is beautiful (I mean beautiful). I have not had a chance to check out the sounds and smoke but will tomorrow afternoon.
