I got 2 questions for anyone on the 765 crew and everybody else. Due to the incident near white heaven. Was the FWRHS switch involved? And are you planning to move the engine this weeken I wanted to take my friend to see it leave?

The derailment occured at the east switch at the Casad Industrial Park. The switch itself was ripped out in the derailment. This switch is our connection to NS. The location is just east of New Haven, Indiana, not White Heaven.
We do not know when we will move the 765 home. NS has to get their freight trains on that line back on schedule. That is a lot more important than getting the 765 home right now. It might be a week or two...we can wait.
I just inspected the derailment site again today. The damaged track section (maybe 2-300 feet) was temporarily repaired with stick rail panel sections and of course there is no switch there. NS has already dropped new sticks of welded rail for the permanent repair, but now that the trains are rolling again, who knows how big of a priority it will be. I'm assuming that more people and material will be needed to replace the switch, too. I couldn't see from any legal vantage point whether the damage extended up the switch lead, but there are undamaged or lightly damaged freight cars marooned on it until the switch gets put back in.
