Those who ordered the NLOE Long Island Railroad Alco C420's will not be dissappointed. Mine arrived today. Very nicely done. Would be nice to see a matching caboose or PS1 boxcar/caboose combo in the future for these.

Great looking engine - nice colors - congratulations! Let us know how it runs.
Looks beautiful, good luck and enjoy
Thanks, Alex
I hope Lionel stocks up on parts for this engine. I need to replace the battery hatch for my LIRR C420 Lionel issued the first time around. I can only hope.
SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What’s really amazing is we didn’t have to wait years after the initial announcement for the product!
Yes the originals had crumbling contaminated Chinese metal battery cover walkways and air hoses.
I replaced the walkways using Plaststruct plastic I beams and painted them grey.
Air hoses are part of the pilot unit purchased from Lima Lionel Parts Co.
C-420's are really nice diesels!
Now we need a fleet of Ping Pongs and some double decker commuter cars.
Received mine yesterday also, quite surprised in that delivery was originally scheduled as late this year. Didnt get a chance to unpack the items and test them out.
I would have to say, that this is one great looking locomotive... Not only is this one of my favorite ALCo's, but the LIRR is growing on me!
Thanks,
Mario
Glad to hear the good review!
The Alco C420. Perfect size, perfect sounds, great look---I'm a big fan!
How are the sounds in yours? The LV yellow jacket in front is the coolest sounding engine I've ever heard. Knocking, clanking, harumphs.... music to my ears. The other 3 are the same and are great too, but not as distinctive. I upgraded the last 2 to TMCC. Awesome engines. Have fun.
Man, 30 years! I was a member of the NLOE when the first car was produced. If memory serves correctly the first car was in 1989?
Congratulations NLOE.
AF
What is NLOE? Is this a regular issue Lionel? Never noticed a 30th logo in catalog, maybe I missed it.

NLOE stands for Nassau Lionel Operating Engineers. We are an O Gauge club located on Long Island. We have been producing a series of club cars for a number of years manufactured by Lionel and most often based on a local business or organization.
Thought I would revive the post since it got burried by the farmers, lol!
Just in case some LIRR fans missed it....
SIRT, thanks for the bump.
All pre-orders were shipped early this past week, so if you ordered one, you should have it by now.
Glad to hear everyone is satisfied.
Great engine, we bought some for sale also. It's great to support a fine club like NLOE! Great job guys
What no video's yet? Some one had to run one of these engines, at least I hope so. I'm down here in FL with Tropical Story Debby (yes that's how they spelled it) and need a train diversion
I just bought this loco at Nassau Hobby on Friday. I went there looking for a Lionel K4 and saw this on display and walked out with it..Great Loco, I miss the Long Island accent as in the first run but I like the horn/bell Legacy...Great pickup!
Maybe we will see replacement battery covers for the original covers that crumbled! I'm still looking and hoping!
Thanks Cincy! We are down to our last one of these too!
I missed getting one....
