I have a tiu (rev. 13B) with no signal on fixed 1. It worked when I first bought it used a few months ago then suddenly stop while using it. It started with having difficulty controlling certain features.

I have it powered through fixed 1 but have tried with AUX power input and results are the same. Variable 1 and 2 work in both fixed and variable and fixed 2 also works. Just no signal on fixed 1.

With a loco on fixed 1 I can start it up, shut it down, make it move forward, blow horn and bell but can not slow it down, shut off bell, or use any softkeys. I just get a CHECK TRACK on the screen. I can stop it with direction button.  I assume I'm getting some sort of signal because of the things that do work but not enough to get everything to work. Also I get nothing when checking for track signal. Is this a common type failure and if so is it something easily fixed? Hope I have given enough info. The other channels work so I'm fine now but would like to fix it if possible. Thanks for any help.

MarkLX200,

1st make sure you have everything set up correctly, is your red channel running to your mid rail, if not there is your problem.  Power your TIU with the Aux port and make sure you are wired absolutely correctly, once you double check everything and it fails to cure the problem, you might have a bad channel.

I think you're correct and  it needs to go in for repair. Did you try a small test track  with fixed 1 and a track signal test?   Should be a perfect 10.

Thanks for letting me know that. I'm good with it for now with the other channels still working. If I ever do a permanent layout I may take you up on that. Thank you and the others for your assist.
