Enroute to York on Thursday, 19 April, spent an enjoyable morning railfanning on Norfolk Southern in the vicinity of the Rockville Bridge and Duncannon, Pennsylvania. It brought back memories of a similar visit 26 years ago, 12 November 1986. The railroads were different, but the railroading was still superb!

Great photos, What camera did you use?
Forest, digital images (2012) were taken with a Nikon D50, an entry-level SLR I got just before the Steam Festival in Owosso three years ago. 1986 images were taken with my trusty Nikon FM2, veteran of over 20,000 slides in almost three decades of use. The camera outlasted the slide film it most often carried!
Also, great shot of you and your grandson.
nice to see you back posting Rick, nice comparison between visits.
Great set of photos. I like the composition in the the fourth one. Good looking car, too.

Spectacular shot, Rick. All very nice, this one's my favorite.
I still have my D50, too. Still does a very good job.

Nice shots - that's a favorite area of mine to fan. The Nikon D50 is still my main camera - it's been bullet proof for the 8 years I've had it.
I was in Duncannon this past weekend -
Duncannon, PA -
Put me on the D50 list. I've had mine since 2001 and it keeps on ticking (clicking?) I just added a 55 - 300mm lens and the combination of the D50 body with 300mm is great.

I found it to be a trip back in time for me. I see that the river is high and calm this year. And a little weed between the rails of the yard.
The last time I ran through there, Rte 15 was having a mountain carved off to be made wider in the area.
