Hello all!

While swapping rolling stock around, I found a note from a seller in a freight car box thanking me for my purchase and wishing me a Merry Christmas. I thought it was a nice gesture when I bought the car so I left the note in the box. I had forgotten about it until unpacking that particular car tonight. The note made me smile again.

Have any of you received notes like this? Did you save them?

I've gotten a few, mostly when I got something off ebay. On the opposite end, I just got an email this morning, from a guy I sold some trains to. I sold him a pair of NIB Mantua steamers that I bought about 20 years ago. I posted them on Craigslist, and sold them to him yesterday. I saw the email, and before opening it I could see part of the first line stating that the Mikado would not run. I immediately thought "Oh no, he wants his money back". Nope, the grease had hardened, and once he cleaned it up and lubed it, it ran great. He just wanted to thank me again for the locos, and said it was nice to meet me. Not a bad email to start the day.

I haven't gotten any, but I have left some.  I sold an engine recently and  I meant to reprogram it back to engine #1, but forgot so I put a note in letting them know the programmed engine # and said thanks for the purchase and if they had any questions, don't hesitate to contact me.  No reason for them to have to guess or think something doesn't work.
