I could be a big pain in the neck. Some passenger car couplers could be a little tough. The best way to go is to get the couplers you have working properly. Just because you change them that dose not mean they will all line up.

Now if you changed all the truck assemblies things could work out, but that is going to be expensive and the way they make O-gauge couplers I have little confidence the new ones will work much better then the old.

I lock all of mien closed with black tie wraps.

I would like to change the couplers that connect the cars together to all the same kind is this a hard project to do ?

There are close to a dozen companies that have made O gauge trains and or freight & passenger cars. So like OVERLANDFLYER mentioned too many variables unless you give more information about your freight or passenger cars and who makes them and the production number of the item, example a Lionel post war 6465 tank car. Need info like who(what company) made it and what is the item number they assigned to it.

I know of at least 11 companies who have made O gauge trains, there may be more, I have listed the ones I know of; Atlas, American Models, Dorfan, Ives, K-Line, Lionel, MTH, RMT, Third Rail brass, Weaver, and Williams & Williams by Bachmann.

Body mount Kadee couplers.     It is a big job, but improves performance immensely when switching during operations.

For me that would be close to a 2 year project to change out my fleet of Lionel, K-Line, MTH, & RMT freight and passenger cars to Kadee not to mention the expense. I have over 100 freight and passenger cars plus at least 20 engines.

For some it might be worth it to change over to Kadee couplers. You need to consider is it worth the trouble and the money to do so?

Dustydan47, please respond this time with more information. This is at least the third post since you joined the forum in October that has been very vague. When others have asked for more information, you haven't supplied it:

Everyone here is willing to help, but ...
