Installed a Marx drive in a toy Toby. Just need to add the original sound unit and headlight.
Not such if the race car speed was from the engineer or the Marx motor.

How many volts does it have and will you put couplers on? Other than that it looks great.

I'm not sure what voltage it was running at.
I hope to add couplers and Buffers from a Thomas engine.

Nice job, Rich, I like it a lot.
It is really fast, and looks like a useful engine to me - that is unless the engineer "helps" to jump it off the tracks and you have to get Kevin the Crane to fetch him back.

What type of Toby toy is that? I might want to do something similar
It's about 4.5" long. There is a push button on top for Toby talking. It also chuffs and talk when it is rolled. I haven't figured out how to get these to work with AC power from the rails.

I modified mine with an industrial Rail hand car chassis. Runs reasonably slow.

That was my first attempt with a Marx handcar. The wiring fried when we tried to run the handcar.
