October 10-11, 2015 Toy Train Auction in Colorado (New Location) 

The Colorado Toy Train Group, LLC (CTTG) and Lionel Collectors Club of America (LCCA) are co-sponsoring CTTG’s 13th toy train auction, October 10 & 11, 2015.  The auction will be held at a new venue for these events, moving to the Ramada Plaza, 4849 Bannock St., in Denver. Colorado.  Viewing begins at 8 a.m. and the auction will begin at 9 a.m., each day.

This 2-day auction includes over 700 lots of postwar and modern O-Gauge trains.  Manufacturers featured are Lionel, Atlas, and Mike’s Train House, and also include K-Line, Marx, Weaver, and Williams as well as numerous specialty companies.  Approximately one third of the lots include the original boxes.  While the emphasis is on freight rolling stock, featuring over 285 lots, which includes several highly detailed flatcars with custom loads, there are also 35+ lots of attractive passenger outfits.  The line-up for motive power consists of 75 lots of diesel locomotives with an additional 35 lots of impressive steam options.  Lionel #38044 PRR K-4, 4-6-2 and #38053 NYC Mohawk 2-8-2 are a couple of outstanding pieces in the mix.  There are several opportunities to increase the activity and appeal of your layout with 35 lots of accessory items and over 45 lots of buildings and vehicles.  Saturday, Day 1, contains over 60 lots of Lionel Super ‘O’ and Atlas track and switches.  With 30 lots of parts, 10 lots of transformers, and over 20 lots of miscellaneous tools, lanterns and shelving, the chance to obtain a special find is exciting.  For those curious about reference materials, over 25 lots of books and catalogs, along with another 15 lots of framed photos and artwork, cover a broad spectrum of historical data.  A couple of unique specialty highlights include 5 lots of the notorious Jim Beam decanter train collection (unopened), and a Lionel #17653 100th anniversary gold plated caboose with smoke, in the OB.  Clearly, this is an exciting collection of toy train merchandise.
