Odessy/tmcc EM-1 with Legacy/TPC etc will not move

I'm assuming it is a 6-28051, is the program switch in the run position.  Also does it run ok  in conventional mode.

Agree with Kevin above, when you apply power to the track, does the locomotive wake up before addressing it?….you should have no sounds until you wake up the locomotive via remote,…..

That noise that increases as you turn up the speed knob could be the motor spinning.  These EM-1's were known to have drive line failures resulting in symptoms like you describe.  I think I recall that the fix was to pin the drive shaft to either the flywheel or the gearbox connector.  Someone who has fixed one will hopefully see this thread.

Good question about conventional mode.  I will drag out my old lionel transformer and see.  I also had the thought that it may be the motor I was hearing when I try to move the engine.

Thanks for the responses.  Will try conventional then if it does not move will look at the mechanism.  Got this at auction so not telling what the history was or what happened in shipping.
