Thanks for the report Max.   I'm saddened to hear that Lionel or MTH doesn't want to make a ACS-64.   Maybe Bachmann will make it?  They are making a HO ACS-64.    Also sad news on the Viewliners.  Modern trains are what the younger fans see in real life and crave.   So if the manufacturers are truly interested in the the long term future of the O gauge hobby, they need to invest in new tooling that the next buying demographic wants.   Instead of just offering updated high priced steam engines for the baby boomers.  This may bring in money now.  But what about the future?   I'm not young at almost 50.  Steam was gone from daily revenue service before I was born.  2nd gen diesels were what I saw when I was a kid.   

At least Lionel made the HHP-8 and Acela and Amfleets.  And MTH made the AEM7 and P42.   Both make modern GE and EMD freight diesels.   So it's not all bad.
