out of range DCS

hi do you have another remote to try with your tiu that would be the easiest way tom prove what your problem is? your remote might have the transmitter board is not seated all the way. I would first try another remote that's the simplest way top diagnose your issue! Alan

Tether your remote to the TIU with a phone cord (4 wire style) and if it works, there is a good chance the Remote is at fault.  There also is a board in the remote that may have come loose.   G

 If it blinks 2 times just add  tiu #2  to the remote.  If it's added  already forget this reply.

I Tether the remote to TIU.  Remote reads "TIU ERROR."  Anything I tried to set to the TIU, the Remote reads "TIU ERROR." The DCS reads TIU #1 not found!.   Do I need to reprogram the TIU?.  Thank   You:  William

You need to delete TIU #1 from the remote and add TIU #2:

• Menu/System/TIU Setup/Delete TIU, highlight TIU #1 and press the thumbwheel once, then again to confirm. Press ENG to exit
• Repeat the above for any TIU other than TIU #2.
• Menu/System/TIU Setup/Add TIU, highlight TIU #2 and press the thumbwheel. Press ENG to exit. If TIU #2 is not present, just press ENG to exit.

Next. press READ. If TIU#2 is found, you're done.

If TIU #2 is not found, tether the remote to the TIU with a  4-conductor telephone handset cable (the curly kind) between the base of the remote and the TIU's Remote Input port, and press READ. Let us know exactly what happens at each step of the above process.
