Great job Nelson. Would you mind sharing how you mixed your paint shades and where you obtained your decals? Im sure a lot of us would love to know. Keep up your great work, and thanks for sharing your photos. Steve
Thank you all for the fine comments.
The paint used was Model Master Intermediate Blue FS35164 and Model Master Insignia Red FS31138 the gold for the lettering was Testors gold. All was shot using an airbrush.
The lettering was achieved by going to local vinyl shop and having them cut out as paint masks. A paint mask is where they cut out the letters and remove them from the vinyl leaving behind the outline of the letter you want to paint. They then apply another piece of clear vinyl over the mask to hold the center of the letters like the A P R O in place. Mask help: when pulling the top off the mask pull the clear vinyl back over itself to keep the letter centers on the car. After applying the mask to the car you remove the top vinyl and spray the letters onto the car. I was lucky as 28pt was about as small as the shop could cut.
The lettering is Times New Roman at 28pt type CAPS Bold Face with 2 spaces between each letter and 7 spaces between each word. The cost of the paint masks was $1.50 each. It was the only way I found to get the style and size I was looking for.
Beautiful job Nelson. I also am a huge PE fan.
