This is a question for those who have constructed ELs or are in the process of doing so. What techniques did you use to paint your elevated? Is airbrush a preferred method? Or is just hand painting the way to go? What colors did you choose? My structure is ABS so I guess acrylic paint is the way to go.

We primed it with Painters touch regular spray cans from Home Depot Then we used Hunt Club Green for the color.
Hi Ben .. I took your advice. Initially I tried using the Tamiya brand from Brownies. The color was NATO Green and I used it without primer on Dark Grey ABS plastic. Poor results. So I went to Home Depot and got the Grey primer and the Hunt Club Green spray. Just finished the primer job and then will use the color spray. Primer job looks good.
I also primed mine with painters touch but used the painters touch oregano color instead.
Joe. I took Ben's advice last year and painted my entire EL system in the Hunt club green. I did not use any primer as you want some of the base material to show through to simulate weathering and rust. When you spray, do not try to cover entire area of all parts. Another idea is to check out Rich Battista's latest video, Black Diamond Railway lll which gives a lot of great pointers on painting the EL.

I think Joe would build his own spray booth.
Hi Brian .. I did not use a spray booth. Just put some cloth down and sprayed the structure that way.
