I have been reading "Railroading From The Head End", and I have just come across information that the L&N had a radio star, their passenger train, the Pan American. Every day, 650am WSM would broadcast the passing of the Pan American, followed by the name of the engineer that day.
Being a fan of country music, and old time radio, I just had to look this up. I found an old clip of the Pan American being broadcast on WSM. It is in the beginning part of the radio program found here:
