Hi there, Santa was really nice to me this year and got the GG1 4800 engine. The thing is awesome. Well practically awesome.

First I noticed the pantographs did not have the move up / down buttons on my CAB remote. So I went out and got the v1.60 upgrade for the CAB and the base.

Once I did that (yay) I saw teh remote buttons for the pantographs. The problem I'm having is that the rear one won't move no matter what I do - even when I put the engine in reverse it stays up.

I've tried doing a reset of the engine, but no luck. The lights simulating de-icing work fine and the engine makes a noise when I press the button to lower the pantographs....but it doesn't move.

I'm scared to touch them because the manual seems pretty clear that touching them will result in death (just kidding but it seems pretty strong that you shouldn't touch them).

My layout has a covered bridge and no way the engine clears it with the pantographs up...so I was wondering if anyone might have some experience trying to make sure it is something easy to fix. I'm not jumping up and down about sending it back for repair after not using it for more than 3 seconds for railsounds, especially given the cost that Santa told me the engine was...

If anyone has any ideas, it would be this forum, so I thought I'd ask. Thanks!

Me too.  A previous thread suggested the problem was due to a screw falling out of the pantagraph from one of the pivot points in the middle.  Mine is missing a screw.  The pantograph was working properly so I have to try to find the missing screw on the layout and see if replacing it fixes the problem.
