Charlie i would call Midge at MTH. She is very helpful with parts and here is something i found on mth site this part may work not sure. http://www.mthtrains.com/part/DF-1200004
Charlie, I have a chassis. MTH doesn't normally sell just a wheel/driver. You by the whole chassis and have to exchange all the other parts. I may be able to pull and replace the wheel from a chassis I have. You can contact me via my profile e-mail. G

Where did you find that picture? G
George i found it from mth Item Railking 30-1119-0 4-8-4 GS4 Southern Pacific.
George, don't try to pull a wheel from an axle, you will just succeed in breaking your wheel puller. If you and Charlie can agree on a price, sell the whole chassis, and let him install his motor, smoke unit ETC. I have no idea what the price is from MTH, sometimes they are shown but are not available, depending on the age of the loco.
In my experience, I have found "zinc pest" in MTH locos, especially earlier production. It usually afflicts the wheels that are die cast on steam locos. The age of these causes problems in getting parts, they usually are gone by the time this problem crops up. FWIW.
that seems to be the part but i have to say that mth dropped the ball on this. 100 for part plus tax plus 9.95 shipping equals 110.05 r an engine that cost 120 new. thats crazy. now the question is fix or not fix. i can tear down and replace parts thats no problem. im just kinda disappointed in mth on cost of replacement parts. it all most not worth it.
Charlie, That is not the part for your engine. Yours is a Bantam and it runs $75. The other is the full size RK version.
Luke, I have pulled wheels before, not often but it can be done. I do agree every once in a while you run into something that doesn't want to come off though. G
