While I was running my new Y3 pulling some flyer stream line passenger cars I noticed that the passenger car lights were flickering real bad.  I did not pay much attention to it at first, thinking that the cars probably just had dirty wheels.  I then put a conventional engine on and ran without legacy.  No flicker.  After realizing the change in performance of the lighting in the cars I put the Y3 back on to confirm my observations.  Same results.  I change legacy engines to eliminate the Y3 as the culprit.  A new U33c had the same flickering results with the passenger cars.  And again a conventional running resulted in the passenger cars burning steady.  I was using a 19b vintage flyer transformer.

Any Ideas why this is happening? The lights on the legacy engines burn steady, they seem to be running perfectly.

Carl,

I did not notice any sparking in the car wheels.

I ran the Y3 with Legacy ON and the smoke unit OFF and had the same results, the cars were still flickering.

I did try the Y3 in conventional (with Legacy completely removed) and there was NO flickering.  So it would seem that what ever the issue is it is related to the Legacy system.  It is odd because I have used Legacy in the past with these same cars and never noticed an issue.

Now what is really odd, after about 30 minuets running with Legacy, and just dealing with the flickering passenger cars, it all stopped.  Cars light up fine.

Thanks for the help all.
