Nice Bob! I remember those kits.

I wouldn't be in the hobby if it weren't for my Dad. The interest in trains goes back 4 generations...

Thanks Don!
You stirred another memory, in the 80s my son had given me an LGB starter set with the #2 loco. After a few years of running it in the garden, I picked up a US style engine. I was going to phase out the #2. One day Dad stopped over when the trains were running, and he told me that he remembered his Grandfather running an engine like that in Germany. Nuf said The #2 is still running; and now it’s at my son’s on Christmas.  So there’s 5 generations, albeit not all modeling.

I failed to mention that my Dad built my first layout. He also built one for himself when he was 85.

OOPS ... I forgot in my above response, I could be responding to B&M rolling stock, so I am adding my Marx deluxe B&M boxcar to my list.  Best Wishes Don

Marx BM Box Car.

Don,

I followed WPs caboose post with a B&M caboose; but my narrative focused on the SOM boxcar that my Dad built. Mark and Don both responded with SOM. So you were good with the SOM car. This post boxcar follows box car.
