Hey @pennsyfan - that winter scene a few posts back looks like it really is outside in the snow.  Did you have a garden set up for Christmas?  Looks really neat, loved the Santa train.

Best Wishes

Thanks Don,

I ran a Christmas train in my front garden in Brooklyn for 35 years. It started with an engine and two cars. Every time that I went to YORK I would look for something to add. As you can see the train got so heavy that I had to add helpers.  Part of the train runs in my community clubhouse now. The rest runs in front of my sons house at Christmas.

@pennsyfan- Bob thanks for your story about your G gauge set up.  I thought that the "snow" looked too real to be cotton balls !  OBTW really neat layout now that we can see quite a bit of it.  That background scenic on your rear wall is super!

Well I don't have any miners, BUT I have some giraffe cars (from pennsyfan!) .  Here is the Lionel # 3376 classic from 1960-66  and a favorite Japanese tinplate of mine, also likely from the 1960's.

Don, If you are referring to my post for the trestle, where the giraffe cars were. That is the clubhouse layout that we put up every year. The backdrop was painted by one of our residents about 8 years ago. He is now pushing 90 and added a new section for our amusement park that was added this past Christmas.

Here is a link to the club layout from 2022

@pennsyfan- Yes Bob I was referring to the post with the trolley on the trestle and the giraffe cars.  Great layout for sure.  That backdrop is really great, and your story about the man who at age 90 who is still painting is really inspiring.  As I approach 80, I certainly hope I am still railroading at 90!

Don

Thanks I just added this to my post above; but here it is https://youtu.be/MWX3_IxJOsk
