OK following @GG1 4877 - I don't have a Blomberg truck, so here are some Marx "trucks".  First a Marx "type G (Greenberg's notation) "made between 1958 and 1975 hence the end of Marx.  The #5586 WP work caboose was first available in 1957 but came with plastic overlay trucks, from 1958 on it came with these stamped steel trucks.

And just for fun...(or to be annoying) here are some other Marx "trucks" !  Waiting to be loaded at the Marx freight station.

Best Wishes everyone

@walt rapp - Walt, given the complexity and extent of your Christmas layouts it is no wonder you have a room full of storage boxes.  Can't wait to see this years!

So following @walt rapp -  here are some boxes !  These from the American Flyer 3171 passenger set of 1938.  The inner and outer box is original and has the American Flyer label on the outside.  However I am still looking for the proper locomotive.

OK , not exactly a follow on to Walt, but I thought I would show you what is in the boxes above!

Well guys, I bought the set in the original outside carton about 30 years ago while we still lived in Ohio (before 1988) and that is the way it came.  It did not have either a baggage car or a locomotive.  @pd - do you have any reference material that shows your locomotive as the original power for the set?  If so do you have a number on the loco?  I have almost no reference material on early AF "sets".
