Mercer Junction Train Shoppe had their Open House on Saturday. The weather was great for the 45 minute drive to Mercer, PA. Dave was really busy helping customers for I only got to talk to him for a few minutes. While there I picked up my MTH 2012 Christmas box car. The link to the photos I took can be found here. Very nice shots, Bill! Wish I could have attended, but my sister and brother-in-law were in town for a brief visit. Since I haven't seen them in over a year, I really needed and wanted to spend time with them, and we had a jam-packed agenda of things to do.
We did pay a visit to Krause True-Value in North Lima, where I scored an MTH "Military Surplus Store" building for my Army-theme layout (Christmas gift from my sister) and I bought my bro-in-law a Great Lakes Brewing reefer (USA Trains) for his Large Scale beer reefer collection. This store has apparently just started carrying the MTH line of structures, and they had a good number to choose from. The military surplus store was a no-brainer for me.
Wow, what a great looking store, and that layout is tremendous. Thanks for posting the pics. Bill!
Hope you don't mind, I shared on Facebook for my old college friends! Great store, great pictures!

Great photos of a terrific shop. Gotta make the trip out to western PA one of these days!

Wow beautiful photo's and a gorgeous hobby shop. Dave your hobby shop is one of the most beautiful stores I've ever seen.
Thanks, Alex
Real nice picture, Bill, thanks for posting. I always see good things posted about Mercer Junction and it certainly looks like a fun store to walk around and browse in. One of these days, Dave, when we're out in SW PA visiting my wife's family I hope to schedule a side trip up to see your store.

Dave you have a real nice train shop. Previously being the owner of a local train shop I know how expensive displays and such can be. You did a real nice job with that store, the layout, displays, and lighting are terrific. I wish I lived closer. I'd be a very good customer.

Ok, in what fantasy world is Mercer Junction Train Shop! That can’t be a real train Store; there’s too much open floor space. Maybe it’s just me but I’m not sure I’d know how to shop for trains without tripping over something.
Seriously thanks for sharing the pictures it’s nice to see such a nice shop. I wonder though; is it just my experience or is it more common to find Train Shops crowded and cluttered with merchandise?
What a beautiful store, a such a great layout.
Thanks for all your nice comments. I just got a new camera, Nikon D5100, a month or so ago and this was only the second time I used it.
Bill,
Thanks for posting the photos!
Thanks to all for the kind comments. I hope most of you will be able to stop in the shop at some point!
