Hi All,

I was looking to purchase a Lionel Legacy PRR Postwar K4 for some time. My Friend Alex M was helping me search for either 1361 or 1330 with no luck. Then one day he emailed me and said "why don't you buy a Polar  RR K4 and paint it. So I looked at the Lionel Christmas catalog and sure enough it was a postwar K4. Alex put me in touch with a good source and was able to pick up one at a great price. I picked the engine up at this summers get together at Alex's house. What a great event good food, good friends and as you can see in the before video a lot of beer. First the before video (take note of Alex's technique for loading smoke fluid):

I found someone who is a forum sponsor to paint the engine into a PRR K4 number 3880. His name is Harry Hieke and I can highly recommend him for all your painting needs (he also does building). Here is the after video

Well thanks to Alex and Harry I was able to get a Legacy K4 Postwar and end my long search. Now in a week or so off to York to look for head end cars.

Alex,

I probably will not have a chance to take and post pictures till next week.

Until then thanks for all the help with this engine. I am quite pleased the way it came out. Also even after all the sand blasting and wet sanding that Harry did every thing worked the way it should. Smoked great from the stack and whistle. I like the whistle design on the K4 much better than the Lindbergh Atlantic E6.
