Max, you have come this far with Great results! With that said I know the aft bridge will turn out just as wonderful! I still can't wait to see the day it is running around the pond!
Thanks, Mike.
The aft flying bridge is ready for mounting on the funnels.
I managed to save the mast, but that was all; and even then it took a deal of Plastibond and sand paper. The cross arms are brass - as are the antennae and the flagstaff. The water canons came from www.floataboat.com.au - as did the stanchions.

Max,
That looks great! What a lot of effort must have gone into the bridge for such a great payout. Given those plastic tubes, it looks like those water cannons are working ones, too. On land or sea, you are going to be having a lot of fun!

Thanks, TR. Yes. The water canons will be supplied by a six litres/minute pump mounted in the hull. Prototype fire canons usually have an impressive trajectory - I should be able to damp down onlookers onshore if I can get close enough to them.
I was thinking more along the line of sea gulls as your targets ... but onlookers will do nicely ... .

Looking just wonderful Max! One step closer to a boat ride. LOL I think it is so cool that you are able to combine 2 hobbies together and still have fun with both of them either alone or together!
I just might have to try something like that when the time comes.
Thanks, Mike.
This tug boat is awesome, as your layout! I like the water canons!

Thanks, JP.

Ah, yes these shots are awesome; the second one allows to see the whole layout; it's impressive!
Fine work, Max!
Félicitations!

Thanks you for your kind words, JP.
Ahhhh, tis a right grand lady to behold, well done Max, Thanks so much for sharing. Amazing
Looking good Max. Can't wait for the video of the first guest getting blasted by the water cannons.
Bob
Fantastic job max. The ship is awesome.

Thanks, guys.
Thanks, Mike. No. None of the gubbins is working yet. It's strictly a static model.
It's a Dutch ship, registered in Amsterdam. Probably named "Spieren." It's a Dutch word.
Give it a quick Google. Goes with my wry sense of humour.
It's been ten days since I posted, as I've been struggling with the wiring, et al.
The lights appear to be working.
Sorry about the quality.

Nice job on the lighting, Max. The night scene makes the ship look cool.
Thanks, Pat.
Max,
That top photo really shows the expanse/enormity of your model. Wow. Just be careful to keep your electrical tools out of the water ... oh wait ... never mind! :-).

Max, the spotlight on the deck is a nice touch.

Max:
You did an outstanding job imbedding the track into the pavement. Is that plaster?
I like the whole look of the thing---nice modeling.

Thanks, JP. I still have to fit the life boats and life rafts and one more pair of fences. Then I hope to get a better shot.
Thanks, Matt. No, it's 2 mm basswood ply.
Thanks, Bob.
It's really look'n good! Lighting is nice. Adjust your white balance so the green goes away.
Trainman2001 posted:It's really look'n good! Lighting is nice. Adjust your white balance so the green goes away.
Thanks, Myles.
The green is not the problem. The whole scene was washed with blue from the LEDs. The colour is about right now, but I had losses when I adjusted the colour balance. It's become pixellated and fuzzy.
I haven't worried too much about it, as I have to add some more bits to finish the boat and then I'll take some more shots - this time with the blue LEDs OFF.
Cheers
While nothing is ever finished on a model railroad (only abandoned), I'm at the point where there is only the weathering left to do.
I've left the ship lights off to avoid the flare that I get, having them on.

Congratulations, Max! Everything just looks great! The color selection and final detailing on the tug boat is superb. Your photographs from different angles each capture the close proximity of the boxcars and buildings. This is clearly a busy dock where lots will be happening.
I particularly like your last photograph peering at the boat from between two boxcars. And, the there's the cameo by Ralph :-).
Weathering aside, have you tested those water cannons yet? (Ralph wants to know .)

Max,
The boat model and layout are terrific! My compliments.
MELGAR
Thanks to both of you. (And the likers).
No TR, the boat isn't in service as yet. She's just a shelf queen at the minute.
Morning Max, I agree with Paul! Your tug turned out looking great and adds that special look on your layout that others only dream of! Again GREAT Job!
Just outstanding as always!
Goes to show you. Great train builders are great ship builders and vice versa. I have a soft spot for both ends of our hobby. Max you do terrific work in whichever part of the hobby you are working.
Max,
the ship is a work of art.

All looks great to me, very nice work. I'm sure you will think of something else to do/add etc. before too long.
