I have dozens of DCDRs removed for Cruise upgrades but zero ACDRs. I am wondering if they both use the same power devices? I am thinking if they do I might try removing the bridge rectifier to make the DCDR work for a Pullmor. Anyone try this? Also not sure if the extra opto isolators will be a problem.

Good question Pete. I think it would probably be necessary to reverse engineer the two and develop a schematic as a first step to see what changes would be required. They use different triacs, but they have similar specifications, they're 8A parts.
Truthfully, I think I'd just reverse engineer the ACDR and make a new PCB. Looking at the circuits on each, it looks like enough hacking/whacking that it would be easier to just make one, YMMV
The 691-PCB1-021 ACDR is also still available from Lionel parts, if you wait for the end of year sale, they're only $20/ea.
I see one for 14 bucks as well, service price. I may just hack one up to try it. Right now the DCDRs are just gathering dust. This more to satisfy my curiosity vs actually having any application right now.

I'll be interested in what you find. As it turns out, I have a couple of ACDR parts that I never had a use for kicking around. I just keep them for replacements if that ever comes up.
