Olsen's has been kind enough to put a lot of prewar and postwar Lionel service material online for free. Plus they created a number of their own pages to supplement what Lionel provided. Folks interested in repairing Lionel trains would do well to bookmark the site.   Olsen's Library

Currently Lionel has all their modern era (1970 & up) material online too. It can be found here: Lionel Service documents.

Some of the more recent material seems to be embedded right in their parts list.
Try searching for the item to see what information is available.
(Note: I don't think this would bring up information from the service documents section)
