You don't need to embed a YouTube video if it is your own video. Just attach the file from YOUR OWN COMPUTER and upload it here. That is a LOT easier than embedding the code from YouTube.

Six steps for a photo, assuming you don't screw up
Then can you add additional photos
Seems to me the steps shoiuld be more obvious in each window that pops up
Still on the learning curve
I have no clue how a video from you tube is uploaded,
I was able to get my picture up loaded. How can I post more then 1 picture at at a time? Do I still use the Insert Icon?
David
This was not too dificult. Actually pretty easy. Here is a picture of the city side of my two rail O scale German layout Georgenstadt. It runs about 12 feet. (And yes, since the picture was taken I have fixed the leaning lights.)
All the best,
Miketg

You don't "UPLOAD" a video from YouTube. It is already "UPLOADED" to YouTube, so you can only embed it here.
If you have a video file ON YOUR COMPUTER, then the same 6 steps that upload a still image will upload the video.

Ok, for YouTube videos, here's what worked for me:
In the Post Reply pop-up, under the text window on the right is a link called "Toggle WYSIWYG". Click that (once).
In a different browser window/tab, go to YouTube, and click the "Share" button under your video. Then click the "Embed" button that appears. The "iframe" code you need will automatically appear and already be highlighted in blue. Use Control-C to "copy" it.
Come back to your new post on OGR, and "paste" (Control-V) the "iframe" code right into the text box, and click "Submit Reply".
Sounds harder than it is. Just try it a few times, and it will become second-nature.
(Now, if we can just get YouTube to stop changing how you obtain the embed code...)

What I have noticed is that the pictures are much clearer and so are the videos. Maybe just me but they sure look great.

Thanks Johnboy, it worked. Thank you for making it easy.
I got an email from OGR forum that it could not except the format when I tried to upload it Rich's way. Details like that I guess are not mentioned in instructions.

Rich - are you aware of any restrictions on formats for uploading videos? It seems there are a few that are causing the email notice that the video cannot be uploaded. .MPG seems to be one of them.
Also - I think I read somewhere that 25MB is the maximum size allowed. It does not take very much length of video to exceed 25 MB, especially if it's not compressed very well. One of the nice things about uploading videos to a site like YouTube is that they will compress it very, very well, and this dramatically reduces the size of the file.
If people are trying to upload their "raw" videos, those files are going to be tremendous.

John, the size restriction for uploading videos is 100mb, its 25 for photo's. But yes, I received an email that my video was not in the proper format. How to correct this, I don't have the foggiest idea.
I believe Rich is about ready for a 6 pack of beer or a couple of good toddies after this day. Sometimes what he knows is difficult for us to understand.

25 MB is the max file size for a still image. Video can go to 100 megs.
I'm not aware of any video format limitations, but I'll look into it.
When I try to upload a photo I get a CANCEL or FINISH option but no opportunity to actually upload a photo.
I wonder why my photos disappeared on page 1 of this post?
