I too have an extensive collection of Post War Trains and Accessories. I use the Complete Serivce Manual for Lionel Trains by AUROTECH. I found my copy on the bay and use it regularly. I also have the updated version, which of course I cannot find now that I need to reference it. This version has bigger writing and clearer diagrams.

 

I also use Lionel Train Service Documents to located the service manuals for these as well.

 

And when all else fails I just start the video camera and slowly take things apart in an effort to fix them. You can give Jeff Kane a call at the Train Tender, he is a great resource for parts and information.

 

I am sure other on this forum will be able t offer some good resources.
