I have a Lionel #395 Floodlight (green color) in beautiful condition for its age. The Lionel label on it is for a #494 Rotating Beacon.
The brass label is held on by tabs to the base. It must have come from the manufacturer that way because there is no evidence the label tabs have been tampered with and the label changed by someone - the paint has no blemishes - it's original paint. The beacon tower was only produced in red and silver so there's no way the top assembly could have been switched.
Has anyone come across this interesting variation before? Does it increase the product's value, I wonder?
Thanks for your feedback!
