MTH has announced release of two flat cars carrying U.S. Army pup trailers. The trailers on 20-95330 are clearly lettered "U.S. ARMY ORDINANCE." I may not be laughing but am surely chuckling with unmitigated vigor. This reminds me of Lionel's Farm Rail set in which the lettering on one hopper admonishes workers to "Close Match Cover Before Moving Car." Back to MTH, the same email with the "ordinance" announcement also tells us that the Z-4000 transformer provides for "continous" operation and "continous" AC output. I thought I understood the fundamentals of alternating current but I've never encountered "continous" current of any sort, and I surely can't imagine why the Army would be shipping trailers of legislation, decrees and religious rituals around the country in TOFCs.

The Army has many posts which are like small cities and they need ordinances to keep law and order, especially if they have to deal with bronco-busting calvary troops.

Release date 4/1/19 ???
I'll bet the cavalry troops are unruly, too!
Collectors item?
If anyone asks just tell them the trailers are full of red tape. The Army likes to keep plenty on hand.
What a hoot!
Must be loaded with orders from Eisenhower and Bradley to Patton to tell him to please shut up.
Just saw mention of this in the newest OGR. That scream you just heard to the northwest was me.
There is no "I" in Ordnance! But it's a word that clears spell check and most proofreaders so it often goes uncorrected.
It's especially vexing to me as I was in the Army Ordnance Corps on active duty!
