Problem with new Disney LionChief engine (source found?)

Hi All,

I just tried to run my new LionChief Disney Railroad Christmas train and found that the engine has a dead short somewhere inside. It is the engine since I left the tender off the track and the track still faults out. Looking at a few Amazon feedback postings it seems that this (unfortunately) a common occurrence with this new item so I'm assuming the cause is also common...Has anyone be able to ID it yet?

If an easy problem (wrong wires connected together inside) I'd much rather fix than return. Has anyone heard the reason for these Disney Generals shorting out?
