Layout looks great. I think I am now convinced I also need a second level and using the viaduct items you have used looks like a neat idea. I will have to see how I can add this into my plans. Do you know what grade you have there? It doesn't look like an extremely long grade which I think I may be able to accomodate? Looks can be deceiving on a video though.

Mike thanks!!!

Brent thanks!!!

Johnny thanks for all of your help !!!!

Ben it has an attachment for cleaning rugs !!!

Don thanks!!!

Mike G thanks very much !!!

Bryan thanks buddy !!!!

EML thanks!!!

Doug N thanks !!!

RTR12 thanks.  the grade is 4.33 percent according to our fellow forum members. In my opinion as long as the track work on the grade is done meticulously it shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks to all, Alex

Thanks Alex, that is encouraging. I have seen others with pretty steep grades and also read posts that say keep them less than a certain percentage which make them too long for my space. Yours looks great and also looks like it works just as well. I think I can get one planned now and feel better about it. I really do want a second level connected to the lower level.

Hi guys,

RTR12, keep us posted on your progress, when you start doing your upper level

Alan, thanks. Yes this layout is completely different from my first one, i want to stay as close to scale as i can. The viaducts are from Jim at Bridge Boss. The large bridge on my layout is from the NJ-Hirailers. You're welcomed here anytime.

Alan G, thanks buddy

Rich, thanks buddy

Mike, thanks pal

Peter, thanks

Pat, thanks. I will keep you all posted.

Thanks, Alex

Thanks for the interest in my addition, but it will probably be a while. It will be part of an expansion to my existing 6'x16' layout. I have been working on a plan for at least a year, not sure I am much farther along than when I started. If I ever get a final plan I will post the progress. Your layout's grades and viaducts may have helped with some of the stumbling blocks though.

Nice rock work.....did you explain your method?? thx

Hi Dave

i used Woodland scenics shaper sheet, and also their rock molds. I did a full thread on this method a while back, if I can find it I'll post it here. It's quite easy and enjoyable to do

Dave here's the link the that post
