A possible tip for anyone else who experiences this. Luckily I was able to fix my brand new MTH PRR caboose which was dead on the tracks right out of the box. After shell removal and inspection I found one of the wires was not at all connected. Hoping for the best I pushed it on the only open pin and lo and behold I now have lights. I have no way to tell if the signal guy works as I will need a regular Xfmr setup which I do not have yet ( I have DCS remote commander ) . Hopefully it should. Sure glad I do not have to send it back.

Mike - that is good news it was an easy fix. I am still waiting on the repair/ replacement boards for the Ca4 cabooses MTH released... lets just say they are comin in hot!

Isn't it sort of sad that at the price of these things they have to be fixed by the owners ? Quality control ?
