the squealing brakes sound doesn't sound when I slow the train to a stop or when I use the brake button. I've scrolled thru the menu and I've chosen "auto" but it doesn't seem to matter. Also I noticed in the instruction book that it says ps2 trains will have different horn blasts when you hold the horn button down for different lengths of time. "Again mine is a PS3,"  but when I hold the button down it doesn't matter how long, it's always just one blast. I've noticed on the soft keys that there are two other horn/whistle sounds and I like the way they sound, is there any way to incorporate those sounds in with the horn button so they play with depressing the horn button?

Try this:

Menu/Sounds/Accent Sounds and set it to 100%

If that doesn't work, do a Feature Reset:

Menu/Advanced/Reset Engine/Feature Reset, select the engine and press the thumbwheel twice.

If neither of the two solutions above yield a positive result, contact MTH regarding the possibility that a newer sound file may be available for your engine.

That's not all that unusual. I have a few PS3 engines that also don't have a "tail" on the horn or whistle.

Unfortunately, there is not.
