Hi Guys,
I got a pure sine wave power pack a few months ago and have been trying to get to know how it works. I've noticed that when I have an MTH Proto 3 engine's speed control turned off that when I press the horn or bell button, the engine significantly slows down. Once I let off either button the engine returns to normal speed. I remember reading in the manual on this type of transformer that it said that it is normal for the voltage to drop when the horn or bell buttons are pressed. The manual said this is normal and is not considered to be a defect in the product.
However, I notice that when I have speed control turned on that the locomotive does not slow down significantly if at all when these buttons are pressed.
I'm wanting to understand this better before purchasing a locomotive that does not have speed control such as a Williams model to see if anyone else has noticed this same thing when running straight conventional locomotives that do not have speed control.
Appreciate any help and insight you guys can give
Thanks,
Drew
