MTH may have used images of the R-21 and R17 for the catalog.  Remember that they only way to tell the R-26 from the other two is the "B" end which doesn't have lights or route/destination signs.

What I am wondering is that according the the site www.nycsubway.org the R-26's were primarily used on just the 6 route.  The car on MTH's site show it as a 2 train (which the MTH R-21 cars were produced as).
