I hope this isn't too far off-topic, but at least it's railroad oriented.

 

My all-time favorite RR film is "Emperor of the North" (1973), a Depression-era tale with great acting and lots of train operating shots. Lee Marvin & Ernest Borgnine.

 

My second favorite is "Unstoppable" (2010), about a runaway train with nobody on board, carrying a dangerous cargo through populated areas. Denzil Washington.

No, I imagine some don't, but it's never too late to learn.  

 

In any event, someone else has searched and brought up the most recent 'favorite train movies' thread, so I'm locking this one.
